  1. Go to Customization > Manage Fields.

  3. Show Testing Type field: By default the setting is On. To make the Testing Type field visible on the test case grid view or column list, turn the flag "On", else keep the flag "Off".

It hides the Testing Type field wherever it is displayed throughout the application. If the field has been part of saved filters, then the filters will be cleared.

Note: This settings will not impact Dashboard and Reports. The Testing Type field will still be visible even though the Show Testing Type field is Off.

You can set default value for the field so that the field appears auto-populated with the default value whenever a new record is being added in the relevant project/module. You can set the default values for User Defined Fields as well as System Defined Fields for individual projects. Go to the

Note: Users can not set default values for fields with LARGETEXT and DATETIMEPICKER Field Type, Associated Release(s), Summary, and Testing Type fields.

Steps:

1. Go to Customization > Manage Fields. The Manage Fields screen opens.

Open either Add or Edit screen of the field.

Once you select the project and module to add the field to.

2. Expand the System Defined Fields section.

3. Under the Actions column, click on the Edit button for the field for which you want to define a default value.

  • Default Value: Mention the value that should appear as default for the field for the specific project. For field type LookUp/Multi LookUp List, select the value on the list. The List values are maintained project-wise. Hence, values for the same List may differ for two different projects. For other fields field types, enter the value in the box.

Copy List Values to Other Projects

Users can copy the field list values from the current project to other projects to reuse the existing list values.

→ Required Permissions: Users should have the following permissions for creating/modifying any list.

Users should have the Project “View” permission, Customization “View” and “Modify” permissions.

Steps:

1. Go to Customization > Manage Fields.

2. Expand the System Defined Fields section.

3. Under the Actions column, click on the Edit button for the field from which you want to copy the list values.

4. Click on the Edit List option for the project.

The Edit Lists screen opens.

5. Select the list values that you want to copy to other projects.

Note: A maximum of 100 list values can be selected at a time.

7. Open the drop-down and select the target project to where you want to copy the selected values.

Import List Values from Other Projects

Users can import field list values from other projects to reuse the existing list values.

→ Required Permissions: Users should have the following permissions for creating/modifying any list.

Deleting Fields

Only user defined fields can be deleted. System define fields can not be deleted.
