The Clone Folder Structure of QMetry provides ability to copy folder structure from one module and use the same structure in another module. Users can replicate folder structure between Requirement, Test Case and Test Suite modules.

To save time and keep the folder structure consistent across modules, you can quickly copy the entire folder structure including all sub-folders within it.

Only the folder structure is copied and not the actual entities that exist under folder. Hence, you will be up and going with the folder structure in another module. Cloning will be in current project. Only one folder (including its sub-folders) can be cloned at a time.

Steps

1. Right click on the node/folder the structure and select the Clone Folder Structure option.

The next screen displays the Source module with the tree structure that exists in it.

2 . On the Source Module screen, select the folder the structure of which you want to clone. If you select the node in first hierarchy of tree, then all the sub-folders under it will be cloned. You can expand the folder tree to go to reach to the required sub-folder.

3. Click Next.

3. After selecting folder on the source module, select the destination module from the drop-down.

4. Select the path on the folder hierarchy to copy the folder structure from source module.

You can also select root folder of source module and destination module.

5 Click Clone.

It will create a copy of folder structure with full nested hierarchy of folders from source module to destination module.
