Manage Workspace

Workspace allows you to select the Database Location, Database Type and storage location of your project files. You can create different projects in your Workspace.

Access Workspace Wizard

1. First, disable the QMetry Service Manager by stopping the QMetry Service Manager to access the Workspace wizard.

2. Open the QMetry Service Manager by right-clicking on the icon on the task bar and select Workspace.

Add a New Workspace

Follow the steps mentioned below to create a new Workspace to store QAS project files.

Note: Once a Workspace is created, you can not edit it.

1. Click on the New Workspace button.

2. Enter/select the following details.

  • Enter Workspace Name.

  • Select Database Type either H2 or MySQL. The next field(s) will depend upon the Database Type selection here.

    • For H2 Database Type, select the Workspace by browsing and selecting the location path on your drive to save the Workspace, wherein your project files will be saved.

    • For MySQL Database Type, mention DB Host, DB Username and DB Password.

  • Set as active: Select the checkbox to set the Workspace as active. The active Workspace will appear on the QAS login page. Users can select one of the projects from that Workspace.

3. Click Save.

The Workspace is added to the list.

The active Workspace appears on the QAS login page. Users can not change the Workspace from this page. It remains selected as the active Workspace.

Change Workspace Path

You can change your existing Workspace path in the Workspace wizard.

1. First of all, disable the QMetry Service Manager by stopping the QMetry Service Manager to access the Workspace wizard.

2. Open the QMetry Service Manager by right-clicking on the icon on the task bar and select Workspace.

3. Now turn the Status of Workspace “Active”, the workspace path of which you want to use.

The confirmation message pops up.

4 Click Yes to proceed.

The Workspace is changed, which will reflect on the QAS login page. You can then continue working on the projects created in the selected Workspace.
