How to view the dashboard shared with me?

Often there would be a need to share the gadgets that are created by a user with other users. A user can share the dashboards and see all the gadgets that are shared with him by other users under QMetry Custom Dashboard.

User can share their dashboard with other users within the organization as well as outside the organization. There are three ways in which a gadget can be shared.

  1. Users: Dashboard will be shared with the selected users.

  2. Project/Role: Dashboard will be shared with the users having a specific Role in a selected project/s.

  3. Embedded URL: An URL will be generated that can be shared with the users external to the organization. The access will be view only.

Share Dashboard

  1. Goto Home > QMetry Custom Dashboard.

  2. By default, you will see My Dashboard from which you can share any dashboard from the list.

3. You will see the pop-up screen with the options to share the Dashboard. And to share the dashboard with

  • Users

 

  • Project/Role

  • Embedded URL

    Click on the Embedded URL tab > Hit the Generate button.


    You can click the copy options and share the URL with users outside the organization.

View Shared Dashboards

  1. To access the Custom Dashboards go to Home > QMetry Custom Dashboard.

  2. Click on the Shared Dashboard Tab.

You can click on any of the dashboard links and see the gadgets that are shared with you and the name of the user who shared them. You can access the gadgets from the shared dashboard the same way you access them from My Dashboard.

You will also be able to download the gadgets in the formats available in the download options. Click on the cog icon to view the download options. In the gadget is of the tabular format you can only export it to CSV.

 

If the shared gadget is created using the Advance Query feature of QMetry insights, you can also view the query that was used in the report. To view the custom query click on the container icon

 

  • The shared dashboard will appear in accordance with the filters applied to it by the dashboard creator.

  • The access to the gadget will remain until the user has removed your access.

  • The shared dashboard will be read-only for the users with whom the dashboard has been shared. This dashboard cannot be edited through UI or API.
