What is the process to change the super admin of the instance?

The super admin cannot be changed or removed from QMetry UI - this change needs to be made from the server-side by the QMetry team which usually takes about 1-2 business days. You need to raise a request to QMetry Support to change the super admin of your cloud instance. However, there are few important points that need to be followed before raising the request to Support.

Note: There can be only one super admin and that user has access to all the QMetry Projects by default.

(Important) The following points should be taken care of -

  1. For a user to be updated/promoted as a super admin user of the QMetry instance, that user needs to exist in QMetry.

  2. If a user does not exist in QMetry-

    1. Create a new user from QMetry > Customization > Users > New, and create a new user with a proper email address.

    2. This user should be a QMetry authenticated user (non LDAP/SAML).

    3. Set the “Authentication Type” for this user to 'QMetry'.

    4. Assign “Admin“ role for all the projects to this user, and save and update the details.

    5. If required, the password for this user can be updated from Customization > Users > Edit > select user > Security tab > Update Password.

After super admin change -

  • The user who got promoted as a super admin will have access to all customization and configuration settings in QMetry and will get admin access to all the projects created in the future by default.

  • The previous super admin user account will be auto converted to a regular user.

After you have followed all the above points, raise a super admin change request to QMetry Support Portal. You need to share the full name, username, and registered email ID of the users who will be updated/promoted as the new super admin of the instance in your request.
