QMetry Test Management and Jira Integration App End of Support on Jira Software Server and Data Center versions 7.x from October 15th, 2022

QMetry is announcing the end of support for the QMetry Test Management and its Jira app - QMetry Jira Integration, on Jira Software Server and Data Center version 7.x from October 15th, 2022. This is in line with Atlassian announcing the End of Life for Jira Software version 7.x in 2020. Additionally, other reasons like market demands, technology innovation, and development-related changes in the product led to this decision.  

This announcement is applicable to the QMetry Test Management standalone product available in SaaS and On-Premises editions. The QMetry Jira Integration app installed in Jira from Atlassian Marketplace facilitates the QMetry integration with Jira. 

Who will be impacted by the End of Support announcement? 

  • Customers who have integrated QMetry Test Management with Jira Software Server and Data Center version 7.x through the QMetry Jira Integration app will be impacted. The customers currently on these versions would require upgrading their Jira Software to v8.x or above to continue receiving support for the QMetry Test Management and QMetry Jira Integration app.

  • Customers who have integrated QMetry Test Management with Jira Software Server and Data Center version on v8.x and above through QMetry Jira Integration App will be supported as usual. There is no impact on them. 

What does End of Support mean for customers on Jira Server and Datacenter v7.x? 

  • End-of-Support means the upcoming releases of the QMetry Test Management and its compatible QMetry Jira Integration App will not be supported with Jira Software Server and Data Center versions 7.x.

  • Customers can continue using the existing QMetry Jira Integration app (v2.2.0 or below) on QMetry Test Management - supported releases (v8.10 or below) on Jira Software v7.x. However, they will have to upgrade to Jira Software v8.x or above to have support on v8.11 or above. 

  • The QMetry Jira integration resources such as product help guides and FAQs for the older releases will still be available.

  • QMetry will end the support for the QMetry Jira Integration app installed on Jira Software versions 7.x after October 15th, 2022. Customers can reach out to QMetry Test Management support for assistance with upgrading the app to the latest release for the supported versions (v8.x or above). Any bug(s) discovered will be prioritized based on our maintenance policy and may require upgrading your Jira Software to the supported version.
