Basic Folder Operations

Introduction

Folders help you store related test assets together, making them easier to organize and manage. To keep your test assets structured, you can create, rename, copy, move, archive, and delete folders.

Additionally, you can share folder links across multiple communication channels. Team members with the necessary access rights can directly access the folder and view its listed assets, ensuring smoother navigation and collaboration.

Creating a New Folder

You can create folders and sub-folders within the Requirement, Test Case, or Test Suite modules.

  3. Click on the parent folder.

B. Copy the Folder Link from Breadcrumb Navigation

The folder link is copied to the clipboard. You can share this link using email or messaging apps. Users with necessary permissions can view all the assets listed in the folder.

Navigating Folders

You can browse through folders, view their contents, and navigate between the folders in a project using different navigation options.

Module Grid View

Use the expandable menu to navigate the project's folder structure. This menu displays the complete folder hierarchy, including subfolders and archived folders, all organized in a tree structure for easy access.

Module Details Page

Navigate through folders using the breadcrumb navigation at the top. Each folder in the breadcrumb is interactive. Clicking on a folder name takes you to that folder.

Archiving a Folder

Only users with ‘modify’ asset permissions can archive/unarchive assets and asset folders.

Archiving a folder hides all its assets, sub-folders, and their contents.

Archive a Folder

Select the folder you want to archive and click on the Archive icon on the header (Refer to image below).

View Archived Folders on Tree

To see archived folders, go to Basic Filters and check Show Archived Items.

Unarchive a Single Folder

Select Show Archived Items in Basic Filter. It sets the archived folders to visible.

Select the archived folder and click on the Unarchive icon on the header.
