View Import Progress for Test Case Creation from Feature File
Overview
The Import Progress view helps track the status of test case creation or updates performed using feature files. It also provides visibility into any issues encountered during the import process.
This view includes key details such as:
Test Case Key
Test Case Summary
Source of Import
Import Status
Initiated By
Failure Reasons (if any)
Note
After the import starts, the app redirects you to the Background Jobs section.
You can check the Import Progress from the Test Case module or Requirement module.
Each feature file import is logged as a separate entry. To view the details of a specific import, expand the record. The following information is displayed:
Scenarios Imported
Corresponding Test Case Keys
Test Case Version
Data Grid Name (if available)
Import Status
Failure reasons (with a link to View details)
Import Status Descriptions
The following status messages indicate the outcome of the import process:
Queued: The import process is in the queue and has not started yet.
Completed Successfully: The import completed without any issues.
Completed with Warning or Error: The import completed but encountered minor issues such as:
Missing labels or parameters
Invalid or missing entity keys
Insufficient permissions to create links
Failed: The import was not successful due to reasons such as:
Test case is archived, approved, or already executed
Feature file is invalid
Missing or invalid entity keys
Permission issues
Label creation failure
Steps to View Import Status
To view the status of test case creation from feature file, perform the following steps:
You can access the status of test case creation from either the Requirement or Test Case module.
From the Requirement Module
Open the relevant requirement.
Navigate to the BDD section.
From the Test Case Module
Click the Import from Feature File option.
Click Background Task/ Background Jobs Icon.
This opens the Background Task: Import or Create Test Cases from Feature File screen.
The record is added for the recent feature file import.
The details include Batch Id, Source, File Name, Status, Import Date, and Imported By.
Expand the record to view the details of Scenarios imported during the operation, Test Case Keys to which the scenarios were mapped, test case version, and Status.
