Urgent Notice for customers using Jira Cloud Integration with QMetry Cloud

Urgent Notice for customers using Jira Cloud Integration with QMetry Cloud

If you are using Atlassian Jira Cloud and have integrated your Jira projects with QMetry, this update is important for you. Please read the following information to understand the issue and learn which actions to avoid until the permanent fix is released.

Issue

Due to changes in the underlying Jira API, certain APIs required for importing and syncing Jira work items from Atlassian Jira Cloud to QMetry require updates. These APIs are triggered during:

  • New Jira project integrations (mapping a Jira project with a QMetry project)

  • Running a full manual sync (to bring changes in bulk from Jira to QMetry)

  • Save changes made to the existing integration

Impact

  • Integrating a new Jira project with QMetry will not work at this time, as Jira work items will not sync into QMetry.

  • Making configuration changes to an existing Jira integration may result in the loss of Jira issues and their associated linkages with QMetry assets.

Recommended Actions To Avoid

To prevent loss of Jira issues and their linkages, we strongly advise users against performing the following actions until the fix becomes available on September 4th.

  1. DO NOT run the manual sync and/or full sync

  2. Do not make any configuration changes to an existing integrated Jira project, such as:

    • Mapping of a new Jira issue type or un-mapping an existing Jira issue type

      image-20250902-062114.png
    • Enabling or disabling Jira fields in QMetry for both RQ and IS modules

    • Changing the auto-organization of Jira imported requirements by Jira fields

Risk if these actions are taken:

If any of the above actions are performed during this time, Jira issues may be removed from QMetry, resulting in the loss of their associated linkages.

  • External requirements synced from Jira will lose association, become internal QMetry requirements, and will no longer be associated with Jira Entity Keys.

  • Imported/Synced Jira Issues will be deleted - loss of linkages with test cases, requirements, execution screen, etc.

ETA for the Fix:

QMetry is working on a solution to align with the new Jira API standards. The fix is currently expected to be available by 4th September. Until then, please continue with your existing Jira<>QMetry setup without making any changes. We will notify you as soon as it is safe to resume these activities.

We will update this page as soon as the fix is released.
