Record an Automated Test Execution from Reflect

Starting March 2026 with QMetry Test Management version 8.25.0, the documentation was migrated from Atlassian to a dedicated, standalone QMetry Test Management documentation site. For the latest updates, refer to Record an Automated Test Execution from Reflect.

 

When you enable the integration, Reflect and QMetry sync in real time. When you record a new test in Reflect or update an already mapped test, QMetry immediately updates the corresponding test automatically.

This allows teams to create automated tests in Reflect while maintaining synchronized test cases in QMetry.

Prerequisites

Before proceeding, ensure that:

  • Reflect is successfully integrated with QMetry.

  • The integration status shows Connected.

  • You have appropriate access permissions in both systems.

Record an Automated Test

You can start recording an automated test in Reflect directly from QMetry.

  1. Accessing Automation Options in QMetry

    1. Go to Integrations.

    2. Select Reflect.

    3. Locate the required Reflect instance.

    4. Click Record Automated Test under the Action column.

The system redirects you to the Tests section in Reflect (given you are already logged in).

  1. Creating Automated Tests: In Reflect Tests tab, click Create Test. This opens a new panel with configuration for automating the test case.

  1. Configuring Test options:

    • Starting URL: Enter the URL of the public website under test. The automated test will start by navigating to this URL. The URL is a required field. If your testing environment has no public URL, see how to configure access for private/local environments.

    • Device Profile: Choose whether the test runs on a desktop browser, or emulates a tablet or mobile browser.

  1. Recording the Test

    1. Click Begin Recording.

    2. Click Save once the recording is complete.

    3. Enter the description for the Test and click Save and Run.

  2. Syncing Reflect Tests in QMetry

    1. When auto-sync settings is on and you record a new test in Reflect:

Automatic Synchronization

  • A corresponding Test Case is automatically created in QMetry.

    • QMetry automatically creates a corresponding test case.

    • The QMetry test case is mapped to the originating Reflect test.

    • Updates made in Reflect continue to sync with the QMetry test case.

Test cases created through this process are marked as Reflect Created.

b. Manual Synchronizatio: If automatic synchronization is disabled, Reflect displays a Sync to QMetry toggle.

Enable Sync to QMetry to synchronize the current test with QMetry. If the selected QMetry project contains mandatory fields (other than Summary), synchronization may fail or remain disabled.

If mandatory fields exist in the selected QMetry project (other than Summary), sync fails or is disabled.

  1. Tracking Reflect Test in QMetry

    1. Go to the Test Case Module.

    2. Select the column Reflect Created from Arrange Columns.
