How 'Owner' field value update works in issue module for Jira configured projects?

When a user creates bugs/issues from QMetry, QMetry itself will not assign any Jira users as the Assignee of issue (or Owner in QMetry). The owner field in QMetry is updated as per its current value in Jira issues in the assignee field.

For example,

If while creating an issue in Jira - no assignee is configured to be auto-assigned in that Jira Project for that issue type, then the issue remains as unassigned in Jira and in QMetry also the same value will reflect - Unassigned.
If a user has configured the Jira Project to automatically assign users to the newly created issues. In that case, an assignee is automatically assigned to the Jira issue - and the same gets synced as the issue owner in QMetry. (see example below)
