How to import requirements from Jira?

Introduction

To be able to Import Requirements from Jira, first, it needs to configure Jira integration with QMetry.

  • Step 1: To add Jira integration with QMetry follow this article - How to configure Jira add-on for integration
  • Step 2: Configure Jira Project with QMetry. Refer to How to set up Jira integration for details on the configuration of Jira with QMetry Project.
    • Once Jira Project is configured with QMetry Project. Choose at least one or both QMetry modules, Type (Requirement) and/or Type (Issue), to be able to Import them in QMetry and sync them with Jira. In addition to the drop-down, you can choose to Import only specific issue types under Requirements or Issues from Jira.
    • Click on setting icon from 'Action' column to sync Jira System and Custom fields. By default, QMetry displays Jira issue fields in QMetry Modules.



Once the configuration is done, click Save & Activate, the requirements/stories from Jira will be imported in Requirement module in Imported folder.

Verifying the requirement Import

  1. Login to QMetry and check the requirement folder tree.
  2. The issues imported through Jira as requirements are available under the Imported folder in the Requirements module. Select a requirement from the Import folder to view its details.
  3. Link to the issue in Jira is provided with the Requirement Key/Id, clicking on which opens a separate page containing the issue details in the Jira view.

Use Case: The user wants to quickly access and view the details of the issue from which the requirement was imported. The hyperlink to Jira is provided to facilitate them quickly view the original issue.
