Moving and Reordering Folders

Introduction
Users can reorder or move folders within the folder hierarchy using the drag and drop operation across all modules. The Folder Order or Sorting setting is available in the Project Configuration section. Project Administrators can enable custom folder ordering for the project. You can maintain a folder sequence that aligns with the testing workflow.
You can re-arrange a folder in the same hierarchy, or move it to a subfolder, or a higher level. Moving a parent folder also moves its entire subfolder hierarchy, ensuring the hierarchy and sequence of the order. The folder order is maintained consistently across all users.
Folder Order or Sorting Configuration
Only the Project Administrators can set the Folder Order or Sorting configuration. The configuration can be set from the Project Configuration section. Refer to Folder Order or Sorting Configuration for more information on configuration.
Move Folders using Drag and Drop Functionality
You can move folders from one folder to another using the drag and drop functionality. This feature is available for the Test Case, Test Cycle, and Test Plan modules.
Note: Moving a parent folder also moves its entire subfolder hierarchy, ensuring the hierarchy and sequence of the order. The folder order is maintained consistently across all users.
Perform the following steps to move folders:
1. Navigate to the Test Case module, browse the folders, and select the folder you want to move.
2. Click and then drag and drop the folder to a new location.
A confirmation message appears, showing the new folder path.
3. Click Yes to proceed.
Click Undo to revert the changes.
Reorder Folders using Drag and Drop Functionality
You can reorder folders using the drag and drop functionality. This feature is available for the Test Case, Test Cycle, and Test Plan modules.
Perform the following steps to reorder the folders:
1. Navigate to the Test Case module, browse the folders, and select the folder you want to reorder.
2. Click and then drag and drop the folder to a new location.
A confirmation message appears, which displays the folder’s location where it is being placed.
2. Click Yes to proceed.
Click Undo to revert the changes.
Audit Logs
The Audit Logs store records and information related to all moving and reordering folder operations through the drag and drop functionality.
To view audit logs of moving folders or reordering folders, perform the following steps:
Navigate to the Configuration menu.
Select Audit Log.
Click the Test Entity Logs tab.
Select the following options from the lists:
Select Test Case Folder, Test Plan Folder, or Test Cycle Folder from the Test Entities list.
Select Move or Reorder from the Action list.
Select the user. You can skip this option to view actions performed by all users.
