Generate API Key

The API key is used as authentication to execute the API. It is unique to a particular User and  Project.

You need to use this API key while running automation via the following ways : 

• Import Results using Automation API
• Import Test Results using Maven
• Import Results Using Jenkins Plugin
• Import Results using Bamboo Plugin

Steps to Generate API key

1. Go to QMetry Menu > Automation

      2. Select the project the automation test results of which you want to import into Jira.

   3. Select Getting Started > API Key > Generate

   4. The key will be generated and displayed on the screen. To copy it click on 'copy' button.

   5. If you want to regenerate the API key for any reason, click the Refresh icon adjacent to the current API Key.

Where to find an already generated Automation API key

1. Go to QMetry Menu > Automation > Getting Started > API Key.

2. Click copy to copy the generated API key.
