Here is the list for supported Jira Databases:

Oracle	12C	Using the Advanced Compression Option (ACO) is not supported.
MySQL	5.1-5.7	MariaDB nor PerconaDB will not work with JIRA applications. 4-byte characters in MySQL 5.6 (it works with MySQL 5.7) We recommend running MySQL in strict mode.
PostgreSQL	PostgreSQL- 9.4-9.6	Supported PostgreSQL databases use the latest JDBC driver listed here.
Microsoft SQL	2016 2014 2012	Express Editions are not supported.
Embedded H2 Database	NA	Except QMetry Test Reports and Dashboard Gadgets, all functionalities will work with H2 DB.
