How do I enable Test Step execution status propagation to Test Case on Test Run execution?

Users can set a preference to update Test Case execution result based on its Test Step execution result. The Test Step execution result will be propagated to its respective Test Case based on its priority.

Upon enabling, when the user executes a Test Case step, the execution result of Test Case will be changed according to the priority of execution result set from Execution Status (QMetry Configurations > Execution Results). Also if the user executes a test case, the execution result of all underlying test steps will be also changed same as test case status.

To enable Test Step Execution result propagation to Test Case follow the steps shown below: 

  • Go to QMetry >> Configuration >> Project Settings.

  • Enable "Automatically propagate Test Step Execution result to Test Case" in Execution Preferences. 

NOTE: Only Project Admin/Jira Admin/Administrator can carry out these actions.
