Exporting Test Suites

Exporting Test Suites

Introduction

QMetry allows its users to export test suite details in Excel, Word, and PDF formats.

Use Case: Exporting test suites to Excel provides a tabular view of test suite details, which can also be used for re-importing the test execution results into QMetry (This is meant for offline executions). Exporting test suites to PDF or Word formats is ideal for sharing the test suite in a printable format with users outside of QMetry.

Note:

  • Users should have the “Export” permission of the Test Suite module to export test suites.

  • Role based user access control for the module is managed under Customization > Roles.

  • If the role assigned to the user does not have rights to export test suites, the Export option will appear in the disabled mode for that user.

Export Test Execution Details in PDF or Word

Test execution details can be exported in PDF or Word. The exported document contains - test execution details, test case and steps details, execution status, linked attachments, bug details, etc. The exported file can be shared as compliance and audit evidence. You can also choose details to be exported.

Use Case for Exporting in PDF: For compliance and regulatory audience, it is necessary for organizations to prepare and provide validation documentation where users upload all the test executions along with their attachments. This requires all details exported to a PDF document and uploaded to the compliance documentation portal.

Use Case for Exporting in Word: QA teams share the test case details with support or other teams, who do not have access to QMetry, to get their feedback. Members of the support or other teams provide their comments in the Word to make necessary changes before sharing ahead.
