Create Test Cases from Requirement

 

You can create a test case directly from a requirement. The system copies the common fields from the requirement to the test case. The test cases appear under the Test Cases tab on the requirement details page as linked test cases.

This is useful when creating test cases that are directly relevant to a requirement. Creating test cases from requirements helps save time and effort by automatically populating the Summary, description, release and cycle, owner and risk analysis details from the requirement.

Pre-requisites

  • You must have the “Create” rights for the Test Case module

  • The existing requirement or its version should be in unarchived state.

Creating Test Case from Requirement 

You can access the Create Test Case from Requirement option from:

Requirement list view

  1. Go to Requirement module

  2. Click the inline cog icon for a specific requirement.

  3. Select Create Test Case from Requirement

Requirement detail page

  1. Go to the Requirement details page.

  2. Clicking the cog icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Select Create Test Case from Requirement.

Create Test Case from Requirement opens the Create Test Case screen with the requirement pre-linked to the new test case.
