Points to be noted while cloning projects

These are some important points to be considered while planning to clone projects in QMetry. This document targets specifically the users with Admin Privileges.

  • The rights to clone, is specific to Project Level(recommended for Admin Users only) and therefore, to be used carefully.

    • Customization -> Roles -> under Modules, check the box for Modify permissions for "Project"(It should be limited to Admin users only).

  • Once the cloning process is initiated, user will be restricted from making changes at Project level to prevent from abrupt changes which would not be cloned over.

  • Cloning a Project must only be undertaken on the weekend/non-production hours.

  • Once the cloning process is initiated, it cannot be terminated from the UI.

  • Abnormal termination of the clone process before completion will lock the Project for 8 hours, restricting the users from making changes.
