Getting abruptly logged out from QMetry

Sessions in QMetry are automatically maintained and managed. QMetry allows only one user session to be active at a given point in time. While working within QMetry, users will not be logged out automatically unless there is one of the following scenarios:

  1. Your current session is terminated as it was idle for more than 60 minutes.

  2. Another QMetry session is started from a different browser, machine, or through your current browser’s incognito mode.

Accordingly, here are some of the situations when users get logged out from QMetry:

  • If the browser is not closed with the QMetry session being idle with no activity, the session will last up to ~60 mins, and then terminate automatically. In this case, the QMetry page will appear as before; however when the user comes back after 60 minutes or an extended idle, QMetry redirects to the login page upon clicking through any asset or on the page.

  • When the user’s QMetry account is logged in from a different machine either by the same user, or someone using this user’s credentials. In this case, the earlier session will be terminated and the user is logged out even if they’re not idle in the previous session.

  • When the user opens multiple sessions of QMetry Test Management by login in from a different browser or same browser incognito mode (starting a new session), the previous browser session expires, and the user will be logged out.

  • If the user has not logged out and has just closed the browser, the session will auto-terminate in 15 mins, the user is logged out.

One of the above scenarios are most likely to trigger a log out. We request you to check with the end-users about the above points in case you have been reported an automatic log out from QMetry.
