How to remove the stored user preferences from the browser's application storage

This article is created for QMetry users facing issues with QMetry operations due to saved (stale) user preferences. QMetry stores a few user preferences to the user’s browser application storage/local storage. Rarely, due to some corner cases or network glitches, such preferences do not get updated or removed via UI operations. If these preferences cause any issues during QMetry operations, then they can be removed following the below steps.

Steps to clear stale user preferences

  • Step 1: Go to the QMetry screen where you are facing the issue and Open the developer’s tool from the browser settings.

  • Step 2: Navigate to the Application tab. On the left panel, select Storage > Local Storage > instance base URL and then click on the clear all button. This will clear the saved user preferences. Please refer to the screenshot below:

In case your instance URL contains ports, then search for the record accordingly as shown in the below screenshot:

  • Step 3: Refresh the page and verify if the issue is resolved at your end.

The above steps are for the chrome browser. Users can follow same steps for Edge browser.
