Introduction

QTM Add-on now allows flexibility as to enable or disable the Add-on features for particular Project(s). Users will not be able to access QMetry add-on features within the Projects for which the QMetry Add-on Features are turned “Disable”.

Permissions of JIRA Admin and Project Admin

Only JIRA Admin can access the following functionalities :

  • Default Setting for new project
  • Settings for existing project
  • Enable Selected / Disable Selected buttons

Project Admin can only enable/disable a single project in which they are Project Admin.

(A) Default Settings for New Projects

You can enable the QMetry Add-on feature by default whenever a new project is created in JIRA.

Mark the flag “Enable” for the When creating new Project in JIRA, QMetry Add-on Features will be option.  

If the QMetry Add-on feature is disabled for Project, then QMetry Issue types will not appear while creating an issue for new Projects.



It is a toggle option. To remove the “Enable” flag and make it disable, click on it again.  

The confirmation message pops up before you Disable the flag.

(B) One Time Settings for Existing Projects


You can make the QMetry Add-on features enable or disable at a time for all the existing projects in JIRA.

There is one option "Enable or Disable QMetry Add-on Features for all existing projects (One Time)" is there.

To enable the features, click the Enable All button for the option.

To disable the features, click the Disable All button for the option.

(C) Selecting Individual Project(s)

This grid section displays columns – Project Name, Key, Project Type, Project Lead, and Project Category. Each project has its check box against its name.

Show Rows: Set the number of rows to be displayed on one page. The pagination at the bottom depends upon the rows set to display.

You can then select required projects check box and click either of the following buttons:

  • the Enable Selected button to enable the QMetry Add-on features for the selected projects
  • the Disable Selected button to disable the QMetry Add-on features for the selected projects.


You can select only one project or multiple projects to apply the settings of QMetry Add-on features.

How to disable QMetry Add-on Features for a Project?

The table displays the list of Projects with flags indicating whether the QMetry Add-on Features are “Enabled” or “Disabled” for each Project.

The Actions column has toggle option to Enable or Disable the QMetry Add-on Features for the Project in the row.

To disable the QMetry Add-on Features for the Project with “Enabled” flag, just click Disable under the Actions column.

The confirmation message appears. Click the Disable button on the pop-up after reading the message.

The QMetry Add-on Features turn Disabled for the Project now.

Search Project By 

In case of a long list of projects, you can also narrow down the project search by defining the search criteria above the grid.

The first field contains a drop down with Columns list on it.

The second field is a Search box that will act in accordance with the Column selected on the drop down.

First, select the column you want to initiate the search upon and then enter the column value to filter the records accordingly.

The search box is “case insensitive” and makes inclusive search e.g. for the column Key the search with “er” returns records with Key “SER”, “GER” and “ERT”.

Once you shorten the project list, select project(s) from the list and then click the Enable Selected button or Disable Selected button.   


Impact

The QMetry Add-on features will not be available within the Project for which the flag is "Disable". The Test Scenario/Acceptance Criteria panels will not be visible after the Description section. Also, if the Issue Type is "Bug", then the Traceability tab will not be available.
