Clone Prefix Settings

Jira Administrators can modify or remove the default term "Cloned," which is automatically inserted as a prefix to the summary of test cases and test cycles when they are cloned within the same project or across different projects.

The capability to remove or modify the prefix text saves testers' time and effort as every time they do not need spend time editing or removing the “Cloned” prefix from the summary of test case and test cycle.

→ Required Permission: Only Jira Admin can configure the Clone Prefix.

Steps

Go to Administration > Manage apps.
On the navigation bar at left go to QTM4J > Global Settings.
Select the General Configuration section.

You can see the Clone Prefix Settings section on the page.

The “Cloned” text appears as default prefix to the Summary of test case and test cycle.

Jira Admins can modify the Clone Prefix Settings. Next time when the test cases or test cycles are cloned, the Summary will be appended with the prefix to the cloned assets.

The reset option is available in the settings.

Reset: To reset the Clone Prefix to its default value “Cloned”, click Reset adjacent to the field.
