Adding users to QMetry once SAML has been set up
After configuring your SAML the users can authenticate to QMetry by either SAML authentication or QMetry authentication.
IMPORTANT - To authenticate successfully via SAML, their QMetry username
, first name
, last name
and email
should match the details mentioned in the SAML configuration.
Adding New Users to QMetry from SAML
Users from SAML will be automatically created and added in QMetry when they attempt to log in for the first time, if their user account with SAML username does not exist in QMetry.
The new users should have a default project assigned to them so they are able to log in. Additional projects and roles can be assigned later on. A user is added only if there is at least one seat (license) available to accommodate an active user.
Make a role default for new SAML users.
This is only possible for a custom role and not a system role. To create a new custom role, go to Customization > Roles > New.
Create a new custom role or edit an existing role. Below is a screenshot of a custom role in edit mode.
Add new SAML users to the project.
For any project that needs to be accessible by default for new SAML users being created in QMetry, edit the project settings from Projects > Project/Release/Cycle > Click the project to edit.
Enable the option “Add new LDAP/SAML users to this project“
Modifying user accounts in QMetry to use SAML

.SAML authenticated users can also be manually created in QMetry with
